Backpacker magazine published a short account of a trip the kids and I took in 2008 in the January 2010 issue on page 76. The kids enjoyed seeing their picture in a magazine.

November 27-28, 2009: Santa Fe N.F., NM
Following our tradition we headed up to the mountains to cut down our Christmas tree. Jen and the girls chose to stay home this year (Jen was 36 weeks pregnant) and the boys and I headed out with my dad. We spent Friday night in the forest and cut down a pair of beautiful white firs on Saturday before heading home. We had great weather and just missed getting hit by a snowstorm.
